My new friend!

My week with Miss Guerra was fun, but now it's time for me to spend a week with one of you! I'm really excited and can't wait to meet my new friend!

Everyone is going to get to meet me, and I'm going to spend time with you in alphabetical order. I know we'll all be good friends and we'll have a lot of fun adventures together. Make sure you all take pictures when we're having fun so that everyone else in the class can see what we've done together!

My next friend is going to be Jane Doe. I can't wait to meet you when school starts on Monday!

Have you heard of Mardi Gras?

I hadn't, so I was really excited when Miss Guerra took me to visit another friend in Louisiana. (That's a state that is really far away from Pennsylvania!)

Miss Guerra said that today was Mardi Gras and that that meant that we were going to go see a parade! I had never been to a parade before, so I was really excited to see what it was. People were all dressed up in silly costumes and walked down the street or rode in cars decorated with lots of streamers and glitter. We even got gifts! People would give us fun necklaces to wear so that we could be dressed up too!

I went on vacation!

Miss Guerra took me to Disney World! She has a friend there and was going to visit, and she let me come too. That was really exciting for me because I haven't been anywhere except Philadelphia before.

There was a lot to do there, but my favorite ride was the Teacups. We spun around and around and around and around and went really fast! I was so dizzy when we stopped!

My first adventure!

Hi, boys and girls! I'm really excited to tell you about my very first adventure. Miss Guerra took me to downtown Philadelphia for the Car Show! I got to see a lot of really cool cars, and it made me wish I knew how to drive. Someday, when I'm 16 years old, I'll be allowed to start learning how to drive. We can learn together!

Miss Guerra and I ate lunch at a place called Reading Terminal Market. Have you heard of it?

There was so much yummy looking food there! I didn't know what I should eat first. Miss Guerra suggested I try one of her favorite snacks. It's called a Whoopie Pie and it was really really good! In fact, I wanted to buy all of them, but I didn't have enough money.

Meet Barry!

A warm welcome to each of the students in Miss Guerra's second grade class! Let me introduce myself - my name is Barry Berry, and I'm really excited to be joining your classroom!

Each week I'll be visiting one of you for the entire week! I hope that you'll let me come with you when you go to the playground, or out to get some pizza, or if I'm really lucky - on vacation with you! And the best part is you'll get to help me write my diary about our adventures right here on this blog!

This first week I'm going to stay with Miss Guerra so that she can start my diary and give you an idea of how much fun we can have together. I can't wait to meet you all!
